Posts be Damned

Life certainly has a way of throwing you for a loop. I’m sure you’re wondering what happened to the posts I promised this past week. Well last week was a crazy week. My family and I caught colds on Christmas day and have basically been confined to our beds. Friday, I was feeling better and was able to pull out my new stamps and then my husband had to be rushed to the ER. His blood sugar levels had dropped significantly. So there went seven hours of my day. Thankfully, our daughter realized he was in trouble and called me upstairs to help. Hubby is okay and doing fine.

So, here it is Sunday night and I haven’t stamped a thing (zip, zero, zilch, nada)! I hope to get the creative juices stirring again as I have to prepare for SU Leadership in Palm Springs in a couple of weeks. I promise to post as soon as I get something.

Merry Christmas

This post is a little late, but I just wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope that you and your family had a wonderful time together. I've been meaning to share this card with you but things just got so hectic around my house in preparation for today.

Since I have lost my stampin’ mojo a while back and still have not found it, I decided not to make any Christmas cards this year but at the last minute I made a simple but sweet card that turned out really cute. It was a little to plain for my taste, so I went over to my faithful upline’s house (Rose) and she added a little finishing touch to the card. Dazzling Diamonds was used on the tree image and embossed on the Whisper White CS that was wheeled in Whisper White craft ink. What a difference a little glitter makes!

I took many pictures of this card, but the dazzling diamonds do not show up well. This is the best picture of the bunch. Hope you like it!

Recipe (all items Stampin'Up! except where noted)

CS: Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Inks: Always Artichoke, Whisper White

A Few Thoughts

Sorry, it’s been a while since my last post, but the holidays have gotten the best of me. I just love this time of the year and am easily caught up in the midst of things. Unfortunately, I’ve been so busy with other things, I still have to get a tree, decorate the house, wrap presents and grocery shop. I am preparing Christmas breakfast for my family, so I would like the house to look very festive. I hope you are all done with your preparations and can sit back, relax and enjoy your friends and families during this holiday season.

I will be taking a much needed vacation next week, and while I’m home, my goal is to update my Blog with new posts everyday – I promise not go to any of the after Christmas sales. I will stay at home and do some much needed stamping and resting. So check back often or make it easier on yourself and become a subscriber to this Blog!

Holiday Hugs

Meander Book

When I saw the directions last week on Splitcoast Stampers for a Meander Book, I asked myself (1) what the heck is a meander book; and (2) can I do this? Since the sample was so cute, I had to make one of my own. And besides, it was a real reason to use my Bind It All Machine (that's another story). The directions for the Meander book were very easy to follow and can be found here.

I used paper by Basic Grey and embellished with Purely Pomegranate and Whisper White cardstock. I left it fairly simple because I may give it away as a gift. I used the mini clips from SU and the rest of the embellishments are non-SU. Hope you like it. Oh! by the way, I did look up the definition of the word "meander" and now know why this book got its name.

Two Chicks

Aren't these cute?

Just had time to play with this set and I am so loving it! I started with a layout designed for one chick and didn't like it. So I thought what about two chicks. Then I figured they should be "party chicks" so I added the party hats and then some color and whalla! Hope you like them.
