This one is different ... but I like it! This card was made for what I thought was this week's Blogger's challenge. Silly me, I didn't read thoroughly. I thought I read "copy the layout from the front cover of SU's Spring/Summer catalog." I was actually supposed to use the layout from the birthday card on the cover of the SAB (Sale-A-Bration) catalog. Oh Well. I will try to make it tomorrow night. Now on to this card. I really like it. Did I already say that? It's actually prettier IRL.

I started out cutting Bali Breeze DSP making sure the large flower was centered, then layered it on Tempting turquoise CS. I pierced the top and punched the scallops on the Tempting Turquoise. I figured that this card needs some texture so I added the brads alternating between Apricot Appeal and Temp. Turq. Then I layered it onto another piece of DSP from Bali Breeze.

The large flower on the DSP needed some jazzing up so I used the glitter pen on the large flower. You can somewhat see it in the picture. The center scallop is from So Many Scallops. Which you can get free with every $50 order, starting February 1st.

Stamps: So Many Scallops

CS: Purely Pomegranate, Tempting Turquoise, Bali Breeze DSP
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Versamark, Clear EP, BB & EE Brads, Corner Rounder, Scallop Punch, 7/8" punch, 1/2" punch, Quickie Glue Pen, Paper Piercer

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

I'm posting this challenge early because I more than likely will not have time to post tomorrow. This is MaryJo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #2. This challenge was much harder than I expected. I wanted to use DSP with bright colors, but I couldn't decide which one to use. So, I grabbed the first package on the top of the pile. Then, I had no idea what stamp set I would use as my main image. Lastly, my computer is not functioning at 100%. So, in between file downloads, this card was born. I am not very happy with it, but it's kind of cute in a semi-monochromatic way. Is that even a valid term?

Stamps: One of a Kind
CS: Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Berry Bliss DSP
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: 3/4" hole punch for scallops, 1/2" hole punch, 1/16" hole punch, tag corner punch

Embrace Life

I was blog surfing and came across this layout on Tai's blog. I was taken by this layout and decided to make my own version. So ... here it is! The flowers were inked up with R. Rust & C. Celery SU Markers and then colored with R. Rust watercolor crayon. Two of the flowers were popped up on a stampin dimensional to give the image a 3-d look. Hope you like it!

CS: Groovy Guava, Ruby Red, Whisper White, Ginger Blossom DSP
Accessories: Really Rust & Certainly Celery SU Markers, SU Jumbo Eyelets, Groovy Guave Double Stitched ribbon, Crop-a-dial, Eyelet tool setter, Watercolor Wonder Crayons

Berry Bliss Happy Heart

Oh My Gosh!!! I am just lovin' this Berry Bliss DSP. I didn't want to use it because it looks so delicious. I broke down and used it. I am not a hamster, mouse, or rat person but I sure do like this one. This is a really simple but sweet card.

Bloggers Challenge

This is my first Bloggers Challenge (#BC WK 30) card! The week's color combinations were Blue Bayou, Real Red, River Rock. This one was a real challenge. I would never have thought to put these colors together. I like the outcome of this card although it is a simple one. It is crisp and clean without the use of DSP. Card measures 5"x5"

I wanted to post the cards I will be swapping with my online group but ran out of time. Of course I can post without giving the recipe. I might just do that. Remember to leave a comment. Swap Cards

These were the cards I made to swap with my online group at Leadership.

The first card was made with the Happy Heart Day stamp set. The elephant image was embossed and water colored in. SU markers were used on the heart and flowers. Used a drop of Crystal Effects on the heart to give the card some texture and paper pierced one corner of the cardstock. Although you can not see it, the Real Red cardstock is randomly stamped tone on tone with the flower image from this set. Cardstocks used were Basic Black, Real Red, Basic Gray, Whisper White. The card was topped off with a few vintage black brads and the new 5/8" Real Red grosgrain ribbon.

The second card is my favorite. My brother, June (short for Junior), helped me design this card. I was totally shocked because he was really interested in what I was doing and, he took the time out of his busy schedule to tell me "put this on top of that and use this color ink and try this color instead of that ..." Surprisingly, I actually understood his "this & thats" and saw our vision for this card. What do you think?

The card uses River Rock, Rose Red, Regal Rose cardstocks & Ginger Blossom DSP; Three for you punch & 1/4" circle punch; Vintage brads.

Happy Heart Day

Just playing around with this new set and I really like it! Isn't this elephant adorable? The card is so/so. I was trying to get a valentines day feel to it but didn't quite achieve it. Let me know what you think.

Stamps: A Happy Heart Day

Inks: Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black

A Beautiful Thing

I just love this stamp set and the new DSP Bali Breeze. Too bad there are only two sheets of each design per package. This card is a simple card showcasing the DSP. I also did some tone on tone stamping on the T w/ Teal CS. It's very faint in this picture. I wanted to use this card as one of my swap cards, but I thought (1) not enough DSP and (2) it's kind of plain. Although it is plain, I really like it. Hope you do too.

Stamps: A Beautiful Thing
CS: Taken w/ Teal, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White, Bali Breeze DSP
Ink: Taken w/ Teal, Apricot Appeal, Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon

This card is just is my favorite of the two. It just pops and is really much prettier in real life. Will have to make a few more of this card, because my friends really think this card is awesome. Hope you do too. Enjoy.
