MJ's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

Last night I challenged myself to make this card in one hour. Well two and a half hours later, this is all I could muster up for this challenge. The challenge was actually harder than it looked. I must have been tired. Yeah, that's it, I was tired! I tried a couple of things on this card and I did not do one thing on this card that I should have done. I should have embossed the "for you" sentiment. I embossed everything else, so why not the sentiment? Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Bloggers Challenge #35

I do not like these colors together! ... and they don't work well together. Am I whining? This week's BC was to use Purely Pomegranate, Brilliant Blue, and Old Olive. Can you say "CHALLENGE"? I made two cards for this challenge because the first card, we'll call the love card, is just hideous, but I had to post because I used the chunky sprinkles and I like the look. Unfortunately the Crystal Effects did not want to stay near the edge of the heart, hence no sprinkles near the center of the heart. But I like it the little heart!!! The second card, the birthday card, is much better. Simple but better than the first. Both cards are embossed using the Cuttlebug embossing folders. Let me know what you think.

Stamp Class Cards

My computer is back up and running. I did something to my computer, again! I thought I was cleaning up my hard drive and did more harm than good. Anyway, here are a few cards we made at my stamp class this past weekend. They are fairly simple cards.

This card uses Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White CS and Berry Bliss DSP paper. The cake is from Birthday Whimsy, which is a Sale-A-Bration set you can earn with any $50 order. We stamped the cake in both Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink inks and then cut off the top half of the cake and adhered it over the chocolate chip cake. Gold brads and Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon were used.

This card was really quick and easy to make but the picture did not do it justice (the lighting was not good). The butterflies were stamped in Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Taken with Teal. The butterfly in the middle was stamped twice. One was cut out and adhered the middle image so that the wings would rise. You can see it a little in the picture. We then added dazzling diamonds to the edges of the middle butterfly. We then concluded with the happy stamp from Happy Everything.

We did this pocket card last and got lots of oohs and aahs. It was fairly simple and the colors came together well. This card uses Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive CS and Bali Breeze DSP. We used the scallop punch as well as the 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" punches. The image is from A Beautiful Thing and was stamped in Versamark, embossed in White, cut out and adhered with a dimensional. We also inserted a Turquoise brad to the center of the image.
Thanks for looking.

A Book of Love

I have a few things to post, but my computer is on the blink. My cousin, Denise, graciously e-mailed the following pictures to me so I can finally post (from work).

Denise asked me to help her with a handmade project for her honey for Valentines Day (keep in mind that Denise is not a scrapper or a stamper). This project was made with love from she and her two boys. Denise found this beautiful Red paper with shiny embossed silver hearts at the local scrapbook store near her work. Unfortunately, they did not have any coordinating paper to go with the red and silver, so she bought some plain textured gray paper by Bazzil to coordinate. I did not get a chance to see the final product IRL, but looking at the pictures, her project turned out great! Way to go Denise!

Bloggers Challenge #33

I really love how this card turned out. It's prettier IRL. This card was made for this week's BC #33. We were to use the color combination of Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red & Taken with Teal. I wanted to give this card a little texture, but didn't quite succeed. I used the Polka Dot background stamp on the P. Pie CS (you can hardly see it). I should have embossed it. The little guys are from Stampendous. Aren't they cute? I hope you like it.
