Just Celebrate

I've been so busy, I forgot to post these two cards. These cards use the patterned paper from Micheals, SU's Just Celebrate, and Short and Sweet. These are the same patterned papers that were used in my cupcake card below. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Mystery Swap - Cupcake

I participated in another Mystery Image swap and this is the image that was sent to all players. When I received this little cupcake, I knew exactly what layout I would use for it, but was not sure if I had any festive and colorful patterned paper. After searching through my stash and coming up with NOTHING! I set out on a quest the next night to the local scrapbook store. Note that there is nothing in close proximity to my house except for a Michaels that is always out of stock of almost everything scrapbook/ stamping related. So I bypass Michaels and drive approximately 10 miles south to the LSS. It is closed. It's only 8pm and closed? They normally stay open until 9pm -- what's the deelio? So on my way to the other LSS I pass JoAnne's and decide to skip them too because they are somewhat like Michaels when it comes to scrap/stamp items. I drive about 5 miles west to the other LSS only to find that they are closed too. I'm terribly disappointed. My daughter suggests going to Micheals, and I am dead set against it because they have "crap". Fast forward the next day. I am telling my BFF Rose about my dilemma and she tells me to come over to see the great paper she got at Micheals. I go over to see the paper and leave with some of the patterned papers she got from Michaels. On my way home, where do I stop? Yeah you guessed it. So I picked up some of this beautiful "non crappy" patterned paper and made this cupcake card. I hope my partner like it as much as I do. because it is much prettier in real life.

Everything on this card is non Stampin'Up with exception for the WaterColor Crayons used to color in the cupcake, Crystal Effects on the strawberry, and the sentiment from One of a Kind stamp set. The image is from JustJohana.com. The card base is Metallic Mango by The Paper Company. The CB green piece is by Anna Griffin. The other two pattern papers are unknown. Ribbon- Dashes, Dots and Checks (LTD Ed.). Also used Rhinestones and Stardust Stickles on this card.

Happy Birthday

Just finished watching the Laker game and I must admit I am terribly disappointed. Can you believe the Lakers started the 3rd quarter with a 20 point lead and by the end of the quarter, the Celtics had closed in by 2. Sigh, sigh! It is truly sad how this happened.

My goal tonight was to create two cards two. Well, I didn't meet that goal. Not even one. However, I was saving a treat for you. As promised, here is the other card I did for a Hapy Birthday card swap I participated in. I am posting now because the other swap players have received their cards. I hope the girls like it and I hope you like it too!

With Sympathy

It's been a while since my last post. Well let me tell you what I've been up to! Work, work work!!! It's been so busy my head is still spinning. After this week work should be back to normal. The crazy thing is that I knew I would be busy, but still signed up for a couple of swaps.

BTW, yesterday, June 3rd, my wonderful husband and I celebrated our 19th year of wedded bliss! Our anniversary was very low keyed. I received a beautiful boquet of flowers and a really cute teddy bear. We went to dinner, came home, and thats all she wrote!

Now on to one of the swap cards I did. I will share the other card with you later. I promise!

This card is made with SU's new stamp set Fresh Cuts. I stamped the smaller flowers along the sides of the Wild Wasabi CS in Wild Wasabi ink and then dipped a dried up white gel pen in craft white inker and made the flower centers. Once I completed the centers, I used Dazzling diamonds to give it some sparkle. The flowers in the main image is also glittered. You can hardly see the glitter but the card is much prettier in real life (who would have thought to put glitter on a sympathy card??). The sentiment is from Close as a Memory. The W. Wasabi layer was finished off with a piece of 1/4" White grosgrain ribbon and then layered onto a 5"x5" piece of Basic Black CS. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.
